“Each year, around 393,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with cancer. On average someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer at least every 90 seconds.” (Macmillan website: Cancer statistics in the UK)

Macmillan Community Champions programme exists to reach out to everyone in our community, especially under-represented community groups, to raise awareness of all the services available when journeying with cancer. Also, to promote the importance of screening for early diagnosis.

We wish to tackle health inequalities in Harrow through this programme, and via Community Champions our aim is to engage with all community groups in our borough!
